How to use this worksheet

  1. Look at the solid number and first dotted number. Follow the numbered starting dots and direction arrows.
  2. Trace the three dotted examples, using a finger first if helpful.
  3. Try writing the same digit in the empty box.

Choose your practice

Choose digits 0–3, 4–6 or 7–9. The page uses number strokes, so picture sets, colour mode and answer keys are not needed.

Keep the pencil on the page through both loops of 8. Digits with two starting points use stroke 1, then stroke 2; an adult can demonstrate first.

Changing the practice level creates a fresh version. For another sheet at the same level, use the New practice sheet button. Save the settings link or add the sheet to a pack to keep that version. Tracing keeps the same correct forms and varies their arrangement or path lengths.

Age guidance is approximate. Print on A4 or US Letter paper.
